Tampa's premier labradoodle breeder

Guardian Program

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Guardian home for a JoaLins Australian Labradoodle puppy. Our Guardian Home program is a unique and exciting opportunity for a family who lives within 1 ½ hours of the Tampa – Plant City Florida area to provide a safe and loving home environment for one of our awesome labradoodle puppies at little cost to the approved Guardian.

We began our Guardian Home program to be able to maintain the highest standards in our breeding program and make sure every one of our future breeding dogs are loved and cherished on a daily basis. We are always looking for individuals and families who are interested in becoming a JoaLins Guardian home!

Program Benefits

The JoaLins Guardian Home program allows selected Australian Labradoodle puppies owned by JoaLins to be nurtured in a loving home environment of an approved individual known as a JoaLins Guardian.  The program allows the Guardian to raise and care for our “pick of the litter” Australian Labradoodle puppy.  We choose this “pick of the litter” puppy to become one of our future breeding males or females based on the best qualities that are outlined in our breed standard, including temperament.

Our Guardian program is not a foster program, it is a permanent, forever placement of one of our adorable puppies under the requirements of a signed agreement between the Guardian and JoaLins.  Our JoaLins dog lives with the Guardian every day, all year long, except when at JoaLins during breeding and, if a female, during delivery and raising her litter of puppies.

JoaLins retains ownership and breeding rights of the dog through the end of our Guardian Home Agreement period, usually at about 5 years of age. JoaLins will transfer full ownership of the dog to the Guardian at the end of this Guardian Home Agreement period.

Program Costs

A JoaLins Guardian family gets our pick of the litter puppy to raise with your family at a fraction of the upfront cost of a JoaLins puppy! All you pay is $1,000 which is half the cost of the initial training of the puppy.

In addition to providing this puppy with lots of love and attention, the JoaLins Guardian is responsible for routine and customary veterinary care and the usual costs of owning an Australian Labradoodle. This would include annual vet visits and vaccinations, high quality dog food, monthly heart worm preventative, grooming, training, regular exercise and socialization. You see, it doesn't take much.  Just what you would normally do for your very best puppy friend!

JoaLins will pay the other half of the additional upfront training cost, all costs related to genetic and physical health testing necessary prior to breeding, and all costs associated with the actual breeding and puppy raising.  JoaLins will also pay half of the cost to have the pup spayed or neutered at the conclusion of the Guardian Home Agreement period.

Requirements

In order to be considered as a Guardian family for JoaLins Labradoodles, you must be able to meet these minimum requirements:

  • You must live year-round within 1 ½ hours’ drive time of our home in Plant City, Florida.

  • You must be willing and available to transport our Guardian dog to our home and sometimes to our reproductive vet's office for health testing and breeding, sometimes with short notice.

  • You must have a regular work schedule that does not leave the puppy home alone without adult supervision for more than 3 hours during a day and your work schedule doesn't require you to go out of town for extended periods of time.  We do not permit our Guardian dogs to be crated for extended periods of time or left outside, unsupervised, at any time.

  • You must be a homeowner, not a renter, and your home must have a visibly fenced yard, meaning no underground electronic fencing. Occasionally we will consider a home that does not have a fenced yard but only if the Guardian family agrees to keep the dog on a leash at all times when out of a physically fenced area.

  • No intact male or female dogs can live in or regularly visit your home during the Guardian Home Agreement period.

  • You must be willing to allow a female guardian dog to come and live at JoaLins during the last few days of her pregnancy, during delivery, and while the puppies are being raised; a total of about 6 weeks. This is usually only once per year.

  • You must be willing to maintain open lines of communication with JoaLins on any matters relating to the JoaLins guardian dog and provide frequent updates on the dog’s health and well-being.

Guardian Family Testimonials

We are a guardian family for JoaLins and I consider myself so lucky to be so, for so many reasons! First, Alice cares so much for her family of labradoodles and takes amazing care of them. Every ounce of care is taken into consideration, the best testing for all physical AND social qualities of her labradoodles and helpful guidance and instructions for all her adopting families! She answered so many questions for us and is always such a pleasure to talk to and work with. My kids especially love helping with puppy socializing!

We had some very special needs when we became a guardian for Joalins and Theo is everything we could have dreamed of and more. Not only is he ridiculously beautiful, his temperament is amazing! He is so sweet, well behaved, and fun! My children are in love with him and him with them! Every night at bedtime he grabs his favorite stuffy and joins one of the kids in their rooms. He then moves to the others room a little later and eventually when they're both asleep, he comes to my room.

He has always assumed all other animals and people are his friends and we love that about him! All in all, we couldn't be more grateful that we found Joalins and couldn't recommend them more!

JoaLins has changed our lives. We absolutely love being a Guardian Family! Alice has become like family to us. We adore her and her family, and she cares so much for us and the dog that we're entrusted to care for. Alice loves what she does, and it truly shows. She's the best of the best. Every detail is important to her, from picking the dogs who become a part of this program to who they're bred with and the families entrusted to care for them. Alice's love for these dogs and attention to detail in every aspect of the process is unmatched. The love, sweat, and tears she and her family put into raising healthy, thriving, and adorable puppies show in everything they do! Our Guardian pup, Lucy, has never met a stranger. Every person she encounters becomes a friend. She's loyal, sweet, and the best mama around. Not to mention, she's a true beauty. If we could go back, we'd choose to do it over and over again. Alice is truly a once-in-a-lifetime kind of friend, and we're so blessed to be a part of JoaLins!
